Use Case 07: Migration from UAF to Syncable Passkeys

Native app “Face ID fan” mindset:
I use native apps for my Intuit products and have Face ID or other biometrics set up to sign in. I know it’s secure and impossible to hack. And it’s so fast — it’s like no step at all since it happens automatically.
I really like using biometrics to sign in to apps and websites and have them set up on all my devices.

Rethinking Native Settings with Passkey Implementation

As we prepared for Passkey implementation, we also had to think of existing security settings, namely, Passcode, and how that would be affected. Do we remove it for the users once they add a passkey? And what happens if the user doesn’t like the passkey experience? For the latter, we came up with a solution we are calling “Express mode”. Below is an example of how we thought it out, and where we landed. This also allowed for a redesign of the current Native settings experience.
